What’s your professional background?

I started out in the field as a family support program coordinator for a small CBO in my hometown. After completing graduate school, I worked for an organization that leads several national initiatives designed to promote positive outcomes for families and young people. That experience often involved traveling across the country to document and share promising practices, which solidified my passion for program development, capacity building, and results-focused evaluation.

I then served as a program director leading afterschool and summer enrichment programs for middle and high school students. Later on, I became Deputy Director of a New York City-wide mentoring program and worked closely with Hello Insight co-founder Dr. Kim Flores on our evaluation design. Even after I transitioned into nonprofit consulting and coaching, we kept in touch and it’s great to have the opportunity to work together again.

What do you like doing in your spare time?

I’m a mom to a seven-year-old son who loves to be active. So I’m often outside trying to keep up with him as we have fun running around, jumping, riding, and playing. For solo down time, I really enjoy just hanging out and laughing with good friends, live music shows, theater and going to the movies (all of which I’ve truly missed during the pandemic), sharing a great meal, and reading a variety of books (inspirational nonfiction, poetry, and science fiction are my current favorite genres). Coming from a sports-loving family, we also watch A LOT of basketball, football, and everything else.

Do you have a favorite quote?

I have many, many favorites! One that really spoke to me recently is:

Together we will create brave space.

In this space...we amplify the voices that fight to be heard elsewhere.

We call each other to more truth and love.

We have the right to start somewhere and continue to grow. We have the responsibility to examine what we think we know.

How would you describe your new role?

As Member Success Director, I’m responsible for managing the ongoing provision of training, consultation, and technical assistance to help HI members achieve their evaluation goals. Our full Member Success team is committed to ensuring that every organization we serve is happy and satisfied with their Hello Insight experience — from their initial onboarding to survey administration to leveraging data in ways that truly benefit programs.

If you had to choose one strength that will be especially helpful in your role, what would it be?

I’m really good at seeing the opportunity for growth and learning in every situation — whether it’s something great or challenging. It’s like a combination of optimism and having a growth mindset, where I naturally hone in on new insights and helpful lessons to build on.

What excites you most about being a Hello Insight team member?

Looking back on my days as a program director and consultant, I can fully appreciate how Hello Insight helps youth-serving organizations communicate the value and impact of their work.  The ability to meet such a critical need in ways that are not only accessible and culturally appropriate, but also user-friendly is an absolute game-changer for the field at large!

Second, Hello Insight is such a great work environment where staff well-being and respectful engagement are genuine priorities. I’m happy to say that people here are not only really well-informed, capable, and thoughtful about the work, they’re also just flat out fun to collaborate with. What makes it especially enjoyable is that we’re all genuinely inspired by our members and the young people they serve.
